Trading land for peace, Japan surrenders. It is left with only Shimonosheki, as a capital. 

Our military and diplomatic efforts have paid off. The world is at peace. 

America has no ambition for world domination. After all, Greek cities are best ruled by Greeks, Egyptian cities by Egyptians, and American cities by Americans.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
