470 AD

What is Japan doing? They have crossed the border. Are they trying to start trouble?

470 AD

We have plenty of forces. We have upgraded our warriors to swordsmen and positioned them for the defense of our colonies in Japan. We have galleys to transport reinforcements.

Japan attacks.

530 AD

We smash the defenders of Hakodate. We are deep in enemy territory. The soldiers get no rest. We rush the temple in Hakodate hoping to extend our cultural control of the surrounding area. Meanwhile, we will keep our troops out of the town. We do take the mountain if only to prevent the enemy from taking it first. Notice the beginning of a Pike Wall, which substantially limits the movements of enemy troops.
